Kyle Newacheck, who has worked with Adam Sandler on two films so far, has teased a third secret project with the comedy star. While the filmmaker did not divulge any details about the collaboration in a recent interview, he expressed excitement at getting to work with the actor again.
Adam Sandler’s secret project teased by Kyle Newacheck
Kyle Newacheck recently attended the Directors Guild Awards red carpet, where he was approached by ScreenRant. The outlet asked him if he and Adam Sandler discussed teaming up again in the future.
Newacheck replied, “Me and the Sandman, we’ve talked. We have something cooking, but I don’t want to say it right now.” He added that he didn’t want to reveal what the project was as he was uncertain about its development progress.
However, he said he was “excited” to work with the Uncut Gems actor again. “I love Adam Sander, and working with him is just weird because he basically raised me with his comedy,” he added. “So when I show up to set, I’m like, “Well, I think that’s funny because you taught me that that was funny!”
Newacheck and Sandler previously worked together on 2025’s Happy Gilmore 2 and 2019’s Murder Mystery. The former is a sequel to 1996’s Happy Gilmore. Meanwhile, the latter is a comedy mystery co-starring Jennifer Aniston, which spawned a sequel helmed by Jeremy Garelick.
Sandler last appeared in the Netflix film Jay Kelly, which features George Clooney in the titular role. In the film, he plays Ron Sukenick, who works as Kelly’s manager and accompanies him and their team on a European trip. For their performances in the film, Sandler and Clooney received Golden Globe nominations.
Both Newacheck and Sandler have projects in the pipeline. The former is working on Playas Ball and Ice Cold Heat. Meanwhile, the latter is reuniting with his Uncut Gems director, Josh Safdie, for a new project heading to Netflix. Notably, Benny Safdie was originally attached as co-director until his departure.
Sandler is also gearing up for Roommates, which he produced via his Happy Madison Productions company. The film will star his daughter, Sadie Sandler, Sarah Sherman, Natasha Lyonne, Nick Kroll, Chloe East, and Storm Reid.
Additionally, the veteran Hollywood actor has reportedly joined Scott Cooper’s Time Out as its new lead, replacing the original, Christian Bale.
