The Scary Movie 6 release date has officially been changed, with the upcoming parody horror movie set to release on a new date following its trailer release.
What is the new Scary Movie 6 release date?
In a recent post on Instagram, Marlon Wayans revealed that Scary Movie 6 will be releasing on June 5, 2026. This is a week earlier than the previously set date for the film, June 12, 2026. According to Wayans, the date change comes due to the “overwhelming response” to the film’s trailer.
Wayans joked that he was excited about “coming early” with the movie, and noted that even if fans think it might be a “premature release,” he’s excited about it. The new release will now see Scary Movie 6 going up against the Masters of the Universe movie, and kick off the summer with a new comedy.
Scary Movie 6, like its predecessors, will parody a ton of different horror movies. The trailer for the movie promised several different horror movies to be spoofed, including Weapons, Sinners, Get Out, M3GAN, Terrifier, Final Destination, of course, Scream, among many others. The film is directed by Michael Tiddes, while the script comes from Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans, also known as the Wayans Brothers.
Anna Faris reprises her role as Cindy Campbell in Scary Movie 6, while Regina Hall also returns as Brenda Meeks. The cast also includes Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Dave Sheridan, Heidi Gardner, Lochlyn Munro, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Jon Abrahams, Kai Cenat, and more.
