While it’s true that I don’t quite need the waterproof Dyma-tex material now that I’m living in sunny L.A. and working from home nearly every day, I don’t appreciate it any less. The fabric is super flexible (so much so that I didn’t have to break it in at all—despite unexpectedly standing for a few hours straight my first time wearing the sneakers). Not to mention, it’s lightweight, so on the occasions that I do still find myself wearing them all day long, they never weigh me down—and haven’t left so much as a single blister. (Another bonus: Since the shoes are washable, I had zero hesitations about ordering a light-colored pair.)
A few other things you might want to know? The Weekend sneakers are made with fully vegan materials and contain no PFAS (which are often present in other waterproof clothes, shoes and accessories). To make Vessi shoes waterproof, the brand engineers the knit with nano-sized pores that keeps water from seeping into the shoes, while still allowing for airflow to keep them breathable.
As for their comfort, well, you can probably already guess that I’m a big fan—and I’m not the only one. “Love them! Wore them for the first time to a golf tournament in the rain and they were super comfortable, and my feet stayed dry,” shared one of the more than 21,000 shoppers who have reviewed them. The sneakers are made with a cushioned midsole that provides just the right amount of arch support for me, and the relaxed fit keeps my toes from feeling squished. The only downside is that the shoes only come in whole sizes, and I did find them to run a bit large, but it was nothing that couldn’t be remedied with a thicker pair of socks.
Overall, I’m *so* glad I made the switch back to Vessi for comfortable sneakers that I can wear daily, and I’ll be wearing my Weekend sneakers nonstop for the foreseeable future. BTW, besides being offered in both men’s and women’s sizes, they’re available for kids ($60), too, in a range of colors and in sizes 11 through four. (Did I just sort out my niece and nephew’s Christmas gifts months in advance?!) You might want to get the whole fam in on the brand like I have.
