Afghanistan has said that 58 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 30 others wounded in the overnight operations in which the Afghan forces reportedly occupied 25 Pakistan army posts. Afghanistan said the military operations were stopped at midnight following requests from Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Earlier in the week, Afghan officials accused Pakistan of bombing both the capital, Kabul, and a marketplace in the eastern part of the country. Pakistan has not acknowledged any role in those incidents.

Pak shuts border crossings with Afghanistan
Pakistan on Sunday closed the borders with Afghanistan following the escalation along the border in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan regions. These border crossings include two main points at Torkham and Chaman and at least three minor crossings at Kharlachi, Angoor Adda and Ghulam Khan, Reuters reported.

State-run media, RTA, said the “revenge operation” had captured three Pakistani military posts, resulting in the deaths of 15 soldiers in an area bordering southern Helmand province.
The Torkham border crossing, one of two main trade routes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, did not open on Sunday at its usual time of 8 am, Associated Press reported.
