Offshore Wind Is Running Into Trouble Everywhere Except China

It was only a few years ago that the offshore wind industry conjured a future with a near-limitless supply of clean energy. Now the sector is fighting to stay alive as rising costs and fading government support slow development almost everywhere.

The one exception is China, where installations this year are expected to reach their highest since 2021, accounting for about three of every four turbines placed at sea in the world.
