Bob Odenkirk confirmed he has ideas for two additional sequels in the Nobody franchise, but Universal has not yet approved Nobody 3. Speaking to ScreenRant at the Saturn Awards he said “I do have ideas” and explained he is waiting for Universal Pictures to decide. Odenkirk added he will “do what they want” if the studio moves ahead soon.
The franchise created by Derek Kolstad follows Hutch Mansell, a mild mannered family man whose past as a government assassin resurfaces after conflicts with criminal organizations. Nobody 2 released in August 2025, bringing back Connie Nielsen, Christopher Lloyd and RZA. The sequel received a 76 percent Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes compared with the original 83 percent score.
Odenkirk also discussed possible directions for a third film, explaining that the tone could change significantly. He said the story “could go really dark” and even become “the darkest, violent film you’ve ever seen or thought.” He also noted the studio might respond “Don’t do that to your audience” because many viewers enjoy the series more broadly today.
Despite positive reviews, Nobody 2 performed more modestly financially than the original. The sequel earned just over $43 million worldwide against a $27 million production budget. The first film reached about $57.5 million worldwide. Studio calculations usually require movies to earn roughly 2.5 times their budgets after marketing and theater cuts.
Universal continues collaborating with 87North Productions on several projects. These include the upcoming Violent Night sequel and a long developing Gears of War adaptation. Nobody 2 also leaves narrative threads for another film. One example is Hutch’s unresolved debt to Colin Salmon’s Barber. The sequel also reveals more about Hutch and Becca’s past. It shows that they first met after one of Hutch’s missions.
