Steal reviews and Rotten Tomatoes score are in
Steal has debuted with an 80% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes based on five reviews. Four of the five reviews rate the series “Fresh,” while one rates it “Rotten.” Rotten Tomatoes has not posted an audience score yet.
Sophie Turner leads the cast as Zara, an office worker at a pension fund investment company. Her routine day unravels when a violent heist pulls her into a dangerous situation. Sotiris Nikias created the show, and Hettie MacDonald and Sam Miller directed it. Prime Video will release all six episodes on January 21, 2026.
Rebecca Nicholson of Financial Times rated the show 4/5, stating, “This is a lean, entertaining, no-fuss thriller, and in Turner, an unlikely new Bruce Willis may just have been born.” Vinamra Mathur of Firstpost gave it a 3/5, writing, “It may not be unapologetic in its telling but still happens to be better than a lot of content that reeks of pretentiousness.”
Milo Pope from metro.co.uk also gave a 3/5 score and commented, “As the series went on, I felt myself wishing that this was just a story about the robbery and that we stayed inside that London office for the entirety of the series.” Therese Lacson from Collider rated it 6/10 and called it “one of the strongest recent showcases of Turner’s range as an actor,” noting that it “serves up twist after twist.”
Richard Roeper from RogerEbert.com gave the only negative review, though he praised Turner as “outstanding,” describing Zara as “an undeniably complex and empathetic character.” He criticized “the collective lack of dark charisma within that heist team” and wrote, “Give Zara a better adventure, and we’ll sign up.”
Turner also appears in upcoming projects including The Dreadful and the Tomb Raider series for Prime Video.
