Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu’s third policy address will see the “Policy Measures” document published within the last two years replaced with a new “Attachment” document, as revealed by the Hong Kong leader on Tuesday ahead of tomorrow’s delivery in the Legislative Council.
Speaking to reporters before his weekly executive council meeting this morning, Lee said his policy address will focus on reform, development, and people’s livelihood, with the cover of this year’s blueprint continuing to be green to symbolize continuity in government policies.
The Chief Executive also noted that the “Policy Measures” document published within the last two years will be replaced with a new “Attachment” document this year.
He explained that the new “Attachment” is related to the policy address itself – a document outlining the background and details of different policies, and hopes the document will not be overlooked.
Previously, the “Policy Measures” document mainly listed the measures for the advancement of various policy areas under the policy address and identified the government departments responsible for follow-up.
Meanwhile, Lee said the new policy blueprint was prepared over a period of more than three months, during which over 40 consultation sessions were held and a total of over 9,500 proposals were received.
These inputs were helpful in determining the focus and priorities of the address, said Lee.
