MG has launched its refreshed, award-winning, affordable 2026 MG4 EV in the UK market with multiple changes that will please many, while no longer being the cheapest electric model the brand sells in the market.
The even newer, more rounded, 2026 MG4 EV “Urban” with a front-wheel-drive (FWD) powertrain takes the cheapest EV from the brand spot with prices almost 22% below the updated MG4 EV.
On MG’s UK X page, the company shared: “Introducing the new MG4 EV. Stylishly chiselled looks, advanced technology and extraordinary value. From £29,995. The original challenged the EV formula, 40 awards proved it. Now, it’s even better.”
Prices of the refreshed model start at £29,995, while the new MG EV Urban starts at £23,495 with both models expected to land in the coming months.
Pricing for the model’s lineup for both models comes in at:
| 2026 MG4 EV Urban | Price | 2026 MG4 EV | Price |
| Comfort Standard Range | £23,495 | Long Range | £29,995 |
| Comfort Long Range | £25,495 | Extended Range | £32,995 |
| Premium Long Range | £27,495 | X-Power | £33,995 |
On the refreshed model, the company has finally upgraded the main screen from 10.25-inch to 12.8-inch, making it in-line with the MGS5 EV SUV it launched in Australia in the first half of 2025.
There is also a more integrated screen behind the steering wheel, also similar to the S5 which we found was quite good in our review last year.
Air vents and physical buttons are also in a far better position for when driving on the road, and nice to use for those wanting a minimalist interior as well.
This was much welcomed by many, as well as the changes to the floating dash layout, which now brings the cupholders closer to the driver.
The seats have also been improved with updated materials, adding to the comfort the car brought to the market.
Given the line up with X-Power, this refreshed model will continue to be delivered in RWD and AWD powertrains.
Moving on to the more affordable Urban model, it’s powered by FWD powertrain while being a bit more rounded.
Given the price point its playing at in the UK, it’s likely to be priced in the early $30,000’s in Australia, which would put it up against the BYD Dolphin Essential and upcoming models such as the GAC Aion UT and Geely EX2.
We look forward to seeing this model land in our market and putting it up against those other models. With previous sightings of the Urban model being tested in late 2025, we can expect it to land here sometime later this year.
More details on the local specs and pricing will be released closer to the local launch.
