Neve Campbell is denying that she’s been cast in X-Men ’97 Season 2.
Campbell is best known for playing Sidney Prescott in the Scream franchise. She’ll soon be seen reprising that role in Scream 7, which opens in United States theaters this weekend, while she’s also recently starred in movies such as 2020’s Clouds and 2023’s Swan Song.
What did Neve Campbell say about X-Men?
Scooper MyTimeToShineHello previously reported that Campbell had been cast as an X-Men character in the MCU; however, it was then reported that Campbell had actually been hired to ice Polaris in X-Men ’97 Season 2 instead. According to Campbell, however, none of these reports seem to be true, as she’s now denying that she has anything to do with Marvel’s X-Men franchise.
Campbell was asked about the matter when speaking to The Movie Dweeb. She said, “I have not” when asked if she’d joined the cast of X-Men ’97.
“No, I haven’t,” she confirmed.
She continued, “That is a rumor, though, isn’t it?” When asked if she would like to join the series, Campbell said, “Sure, of course. Why not? Wouldn’t that be fun?…It’s amazing, the internet, what it can create.”
Marvel Television’s X-Men ’97 Season 2 does not have a release date at this time. Plot details remain under wraps.
Scream 7, meanwhile, arrives this weekend. Directed by Kevin Williamson, the horror movie sequel also stars Isabel May as Tatum Evans, Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-martin, Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin, Anna Camp as Jessica Bowden, Joel McHale as Mark Evans, and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers.
The official synopsis reads, “When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter (Isabel May) becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.”
