Netflix Renews Popular TV Show for Season 3, Reveals New App

Netflix is bringing back one of its most popular shows for a third season, along with the reveal of a brand new app.

Netflix has announced it will be bringing the kids favorite series Trash Truck for a third season. The series is created and written by Max Keane, and follows the adventures of a young boy named Hank and his best friend Trash Truck, a garbage truck. The series originally debuted in 2020, and has aired two seasons and a Christmas special. No official release date for Trash Truck Season 3 was announced, but it will bring the series back for the first time since 2021.

Elsewhere, Netflix also announced the creation of its new Netflix Playground app. The new app is included with all memberships, and features an ever-growing library of games for kids. The games feature familiar faces like Dr. Seuss’s Horton!, Peppa Pig, Bad Dinosaurs, and Sesame Street. Netflix calls the app the perfect companion for long airplane rides, grocery store trips, or any other activity.

“We’re building a world where kids can not only watch their favorite stories, they can step inside them and interact with their favorite characters,” said John Derderian, Netflix Vice President of Animation Series + Kids & Family TV. “We’re creating a seamless destination for discovery, learning, and play. Whether it’s reuniting with Hank and the Trash Truck crew for new adventures or making a smoothie with Peppa Pig, watching and playing on Netflix can be the fun and easiest part of every family’s day.”
