According to the latest update regarding Netflix’s catalog, as many as five superhero movies will be leaving the platform in January 2026. As new superhero movies continue to pour in on Netflix, the streaming giant is all set to remove certain titles from its roster come next month.
Hulk, Blue Beetle and more superhero movies to leave Netflix
The renowned streaming service will be shedding more than 100 titles from its listing, including a few fan-favorite offerings from the house of DC, Marvel, as well as Millarworld.
As per a recent briefing shared by What’s On Netflix, one of the superhero movies leaving the home of Netflix in 2026 is Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The Jason Momoa-led movie was the final entry in the now-defunct DCEU and premiered on the big screen in 2023.
Unfortunately, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom failed to recapture the critical or box office success of its predecessor. It quietly exited theaters with a subpar worldwide collection of $440 million, as per Box Office Mojo.
Moreover, 2023’s Blue Beetle is the second DC title slated to exit Netflix next month. Featuring Xolo Maridueña in the titular role, the Ángel Manuel Soto-helmed film introduced the fan-favorite superhero in the DCEU.
On the Marvel side of things, the superhero movies that are leaving Netflix include the Nicolas Cage-led Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and 2003’s Hulk. Notably, neither title is part of the ever-expanding MCU and conveys a self-contained tale of its respective superhero.
While Ang Lee’s Hulk served as the first full-length big-screen debut of the character, 2011’s Spirit of Vengeance was the second and final theatrical entry in Sony Pictures’ short-lived but memorable Ghost Rider franchise.
Additionally, the final superhero movie that will be leaving Netflix in January 2026 is Kick-Ass 2.
Other notable titles that Netflix subscribers won’t be able to feast their eyes on from next month include 8 Mile, Doctor Sleep, Hancock, Terminator 2, and Mad Max: Fury Road, to name a few.
