Hong Kong’s railway operator MTR said it will enhance station arrangements and train services at Kai Tak and Sung Wong Toi stations on the Tuen Ma Line to ensure smooth service for the grand opening of the Kai Tak Sports Park.
Specific arrangements include:
Station Service Arrangements
• Over 150 staff will be deployed to assist passengers at Kai Tak and Sung Wong Toi stations
• During specific evening periods, especially when the audience is dispersing, special arrangements for one-way entry and exit will be implemented
– Kai Tak Station: Exit B, C, and D for incoming only; Exit A for outgoing only
– Sung Wong Toi Station: Exit D for incoming only
Train Service Arrangements
• Tuen Ma Line train services will be increased to a level similar to morning peak hours, with trains running at intervals of around 2 to 3 minutes
• As needed, special spare trains on the Tuen Ma Line will pick up passengers at Kai Tak and Sung Wong Toi stations
In view of the anticipated large crowds dispersing from the venues after mega events, the railway operator reminded passengers to adhere to the crowd management measures implemented by authorities when entering Kai Tak and Sung Wong Toi stations.
Passengers should also allow for additional waiting time to enter the stations in phases, ensuring an orderly and smooth experience when using train services, it said.
