She said she’s shocked by how calm, private the whole moment has been. Miley and Maxx have been dating since late 2021, with their first red-carpet moment coming in April 2022. Now, their engagement feels different because it lines up with Miley’s promo run for Avatar: Fire and Ash, which features her track “Dream as One.”
She said the movie’s themes of love, family bonds, healing, and coming back stronger mirror exactly where she is in life right now. “And so I thought it was kind of perfectly thematic and aligned with where I am in my life now,” Cyrus said.
The singer first flashed that sparkler at the Avatar: Fire and Ash premiere in L.A. on December 2, though eagle-eyed fans had already caught it in mid-November. The ring, designed by Jacquie Aiche, rocks a cushion-cut stone on a bold 14-karat gold band, and jewelry pros are guessing it’s worth around $450,000.
However, instead of turning the engagement into a spectacle, Cyrus is keeping this chapter low-key on purpose. Before Maxx Morando came into the picture, Cyrus’ big headline romance was with Liam Hemsworth. The two sparked their love story back in 2009 on the set of The Last Song, kicking off a long, on-again, off-again Hollywood saga.
They finally tied the knot in December 2018, but the fairytale didn’t last. Things fell apart fast, and their divorce was wrapped up in January 2020.
