Map reveals UK's 50 best fish and chip shops

A MAP has revealed the UK’s top 50 chippies to get this staple of British cuisine.

While it is often assumed the best tasting fish and chips would be where there is a sea view, this map may say otherwise.

The Fry Awards have announced for their 13th year the best 50 locations to get fish and chips takeaway for 2026.

Surprisingly, only 14 of the shops that made it to the list are at coastal locations.

Some others include London, Leeds, Milton Keynes and Yorkshire.

Entries into the competition opened at the beginning of the year and ran until the end of September.

Each entrant also received a mystery dining report, being judged on factors like cleanliness, food quality, staff expertise, value for money, ordering process and social media presence.

This year, there was a pass mark of 96 per cent or above, and several locations were reportedly even able to get full marks of 100 per cent.
