In a perfect marriage of high-low culture, Lana Del Rey brought her swamp-boat-tour-guide husband to a Valentino show during Paris Fashion Week. On Sunday, she and Jeremy Dufrene posed for paparazzi outside the event, putting on a massive show of PDA that I’m not entirely mad about. The couple smooched, hugged, held each other tightly, and giggled for the cameras. Del Rey wore a lavender gown with a fur trim, and Dufrene wore a matching navy shacket-pants combo with cowboy boots, a black cap, and upside-down sunglasses perched on the brim of his hat. He really is staying true to his roots.
While she seems happy to tote her man nearly everywhere she goes — onstage during a concert in Cardiff, Wales, or as her plus-one to model Karen Elson’s wedding — this appears to be the first time she has brought Dufrene to a fashion show. Perhaps this marks the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between the fashion house and the king of the Louisiana swamp?
The couple’s couture appearance comes a few weeks after they celebrated their first wedding anniversary. Can you believe it’s been a year since the Grammy-nominated Sad Girl got married to a man she met on a swamp tour? Where is the time going? Anyway, she commemorated the moment by posting a wedding-themed photo dump on Instagram, in which she and Dufrene shoved cake in each other’s faces, kissed in the bayou, and cradled each other’s faces tenderly. Well, girls, looks as though love is alive and well in Louisiana (and Paris). Happy anniversary to the kissy couple.
