Four giants of Italian football are officially coming to Australia this August, with three matches locked in to be played in Perth.
Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Palermo confirmed overnight that they will head down under on their pre-season tours ahead of the 2026-27 season.
All three matches will be hosted at Optus Stadium in Perth across the space of a week.
On Wednesday, 5 August, AC Milan will take on Inter Milan in a Milano Derby, before Inter take on Juventus on Saturday, 8 August.
“On this occasion, the Rossoneri will face Inter, taking the Milan Derby beyond national borders,” the club said.
The tour will round out with a clash between Juventus and Palermo on August 11.
“Beyond the pitch, supporters can expect dedicated fan experiences and community moments designed to celebrate the game and bring Juventus even closer to fans across the region,” Juventus say on their official website.
While a controversial idea to play an official Serie A match in Perth this season between AC Milan and Como during the Winter Olympics, while San Siro was in use, did not eventuate, the Italian giants have not waited long to once again make Perth the overseas home of Serie A football.
AC Milan will return to Perth for the third year in a row, following their 9-0 win over A-League outfit Perth Glory last July and matches against Roma in 2024.
Juventus have not visited Australia since 2016, when they were part of the International Champions Cup that saw them take on Melbourne Victory and Tottenham Hotspur.
This will be the first time that Inter has ever come down under, providing their Aussie fans a chance to watch the Nerrazzuri in their own backyard.
Palermo, meanwhile, do not have the same stature as the other three sides, but they do have a strong Australian link, having been home to Socceroos legend Mark Bresciano between 2006 and 2010. They currently play in Serie B, the second tier of Italian football.
This tour ensures there will be plenty of big clubs in Australia ahead of the upcoming season, with Premier League sides Chelsea and Tottenham already locked in to play in Sydney in July and August.
