The House Oversight Committee has obtained files from the estate of Jeffrey Epstein as part of its ongoing probe into the Justice Department’s handling of the case against the convicted sex offender, a Democratic spokesperson told Politico Monday.

Chairman James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, had subpoenaed the estate for materials that are expected to include Epstein’s so-called birthday book, which the Wall Street Journal reported contains a note from President Donald Trump. Trump has denied writing such a message.

It remains unclear when the files will be made public or how heavily they will be redacted.
