Jeff Bezos desperately wants Sydney Sweeney to be the next Bond girl? Here’s what’s behind the buzz

The internet is buzzing with talk that Jeff Bezos wants Sydney Sweeney to take on the role of the next Bond girl. The rumours started after reports linked the Amazon founder’s influence at MGM, which owns the Bond franchise, to Sweeney’s growing Hollywood presence. As the speculation gains traction, fans are eager to know whether there’s any truth to it and how the actress feels about the chatter.

Will Sydney Sweeney be the next Bond girl?

According to a report by Variety, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is reportedly eager to see Sydney Sweeney play a Bond girl in the upcoming 2028 installment of the iconic spy franchise. However, her decision to join the Bond universe will depend largely on the strength of the script, the depth of her character, and how the story aligns with her career goals.

When Variety asked Sydney Sweeney about the rumors linking her to the next Bond film, the actress seemed momentarily taken aback. After a brief pause, she replied, “I can’t,” and then, after another few seconds, added, “I don’t know.” Sweeney admitted she wasn’t entirely aware of the ongoing Bond speculation but expressed her admiration for the long-running franchise, saying she has “always been a huge fan” and is “excited and curious to see what they do with it.”

When asked if she would consider joining the project, Sweeney said her decision would “depend on the script,” before joking that she might “have more fun as James Bond.” While discussions about a female Bond continue to surface from time to time, it doesn’t seem to be something the franchise is exploring just yet.

Sydney and Jeff’s connection

Amazon MGM reportedly acquired the project in June, and shortly after the deal was finalised, Sydney Sweeney drew attention for attending Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding. Her appearance raised eyebrows since she wasn’t known to have a close relationship with the couple. A month later, Us Weekly reported that Sweeney had been secretly working on a lingerie line, with claims that Bezos and Sánchez had invested in the business. Puck later noted that the brand is backed by Ben Schwerin, a partner at the private equity firm Coatue.
