Israeli military says shooting at Jordan border crossing, two feared dead

The Israeli military said that the details of the attack is being reviewed. There was no immediate confirmation on how many attackers were involved.

A shooting incident was reported at the border crossing between the occupied West Bank and Jordan on Thursday, resulting in at least two casualties in the incident.

Israeli ambulance service said two people were seriously wounded, while the Israeli media reported that two alleged assailants were killed.

“Two men, approximately 20 and 60 years old, were critically injured and are unconscious following the attack at the Allenby crossing,” the Magen David Adom emergency service said in a statement, according to AFP.

The attack took place at the Allenby Bridge, which is a crucial crossing for trade between Jordan and Israel.

The Israeli military said that the details of the attack is being reviewed. There was no immediate confirmation on how many attackers were involved.

It earlier confirmed the report of a shooting at the Allenby crossing near the Jordan border, adding that an investigation was ordered.

In September 2024, a Jordanian truck driver shot dead three Israeli guards at the crossing before he was killed.
