Comedian Samantha Bee, 54, recently recalled on The Daily Beast podcast being taken aback after interviewing the 54-year-old at the Democratic National Convention. “I shook his hand and then he immediately, like, instantly, turned to his attendant, held his hands out helplessly, and his attendant squirted copious amounts of Purell into his hands,” she said. Noting that the music mogul was convicted on prostitution charges related to wild sex parties, she joked, “It occurred to me in the light of all these ‘freak offs’ that it’s always the germaphobes who want to go home and re-create Caligula every Tuesday afternoon!”

“I’m not scared of germs, I’m just aware of them,” the 52-year clarified to TIME. The mom of two admits she’s scrupulous when it comes to keeping things clean, saying she washes her hands “many times” a day and uses her elbows to push open public doors. Actually, that’s not bad advice!

Calling herself “a little bit borderline” when it comes to germs, the 52-year-old said she was deeply affected by a report about just how dirty things like restaurant glasses, the subway and door handles are. And, of course, planes. “When I land, I try to find a sauna to sit in for 20 minutes to help me sweat out all the germs from the plane,” she reported to The New York Times.

I know it. I accept it. I own it. But I just think there are so many cooties in the world!”

Donning a pair of surgical gloves, the 55-year-old used an antibacterial wipe to scrub down “everything you touch — everything,” she said. She wasn’t kidding — she even wiped down the airplane’s walls and window. “This is what I do on every plane I get on,” the mom of two concluded on her YouTube channel. “I do not care what people think of me. It’s my health and it makes me feel better!”

The 69-year-old, who wrote Here’s the Deal: Don’t Touch Me about his lifelong battle with OCD, has also revealed that his shiny pate is a choice. “This feels so streamlined and clean,” he says of being bald.
