Billionaire Jeff Bezos is taking the idea of bringing work home to a new level.

The Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) founder has completed the five-year renovation of his Beverly Hills, California, estate, and the centerpiece isn’t the three pickleball courts or the pool with aquatic creature motifs — it’s a shiny, stainless steel NASA-inspired space capsule perched in his garden, the New York Post reported.

As Bezos and wife Lauren Sanchez Bezos settle into the estate, the addition of the futuristic pod signals that the billionaire’s obsession with space has moved from the launchpad to the backyard.

Aerial photos of the 10-acre property show a silver, cone-shaped structure that resembles the Apollo 11 command module, according to The Post. The piece is a custom creation from Timothy Oulton Studio, a boutique firm known for its replicas of the 1969 moon landing craft.

While the studio markets the pods as versatile VIP lounges or workspace meeting capsules, the Bezos version is thought to be a space-themed sauna.

The installation of the capsule isn’t just a quirky design choice. It’s a thematic extension of the couple’s 2025 highlights. Earlier this year, Sanchez Bezos blasted off with an all-female crew on a Blue Origin suborbital flight, celebrating the 11-minute flight with a bachelorette party ahead of her marriage to Bezos in April, the Post reported.

By placing a NASA replica next to the estate’s Georgian architecture, Bezos is blending Hollywood with space.

Other features of the property, once home to Warner Bros. co-founder Jack Warner, are a cactus garden, a stone path leading to a large pool, a viewing deck with a table overlooking the pickleball courts, a firepit and a beach volleyball court, according to The Post.

Bezos purchased the 10-acre estate in 2020 from media mogul David Geffen for $165 million. He later expanded the property, paying $10 million for an adjacent lot.

Last year, The Post reported that Bezos was living in the $90 million Miami mansion he owns while renovations were made to two other properties he purchased nearby.

Bezos said he relocated from Seattle to Miami to be closer to his parents, but financial experts said financial reasons also contributed to the move, according to CBIZ. Florida has no state income tax or capital gains tax. Washington state, however, has a 7% capital gains tax.
