By the midday closing, 803 stocks on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange rose, 1163 fell, and 1213 remained unchanged.
In terms of sectors, technology and internet stocks generally declined, with Xiaomi Group-W falling by 6.94%, Alibaba-W dropping by 5.76%, JD.com-SW decreasing by 3.61%, Kuaishou-W declining by 2.17%, Meituan-W falling by 1.86%, Baidu Group-SW dropping by 1.10%, NetEase-S decreasing by 0.71%, and Tencent Holdings falling by 0.49%.
Lithium battery stocks performed well, with CATL Innovation Aviation rising by 8.77%, Ganfeng Lithium increasing by 5.31%, CATL growing by 4.66%, Tianqi Lithium Industries advancing by 3.75%, Zhengli New Energy climbing by 3.06%, Tianneng Power rising by 2.25%, BYD gaining 1.84%, and BYD Electronics increasing by 0.96%.
Photovoltaic solar energy stocks also performed strongly, with Junda Shares surging by 12.10%, Xinyi Solar jumping by 6.01%, Flat Glass Group rising by 4.90%, Kaisheng New Energy increasing by 4.64%, Fuyao Glass gaining 2.17%, GCL Technology advancing by 2.00%, Xinyi Glass rising by 1.65%, and Lens Technology climbing by 0.55%.
Optical communication stocks rebounded, with FIT HON TENG soaring by 13.19%, Yangtze Optical Fiber and Cable climbing by 9.74%, Cambridge Technologies increasing by 4.27%, and Converge Tech rising by 2.01%.
Gold stocks advanced, with Lingbao Gold surging by 7.14%, Zijin Gold International climbing by 6.35%, China Gold International increasing by 2.32%, Zhaojin Mining rising by 2.17%, and Shandong Gold gaining 1.78%.
Automotive stocks rose, with Geely Auto up 6.98%, Li Auto-W up 3.03%, Xiangfeng Group up 2.78%, BYD up 1.84%, and Leapmotor up 1.19%.
Most Hong Kong retail stocks fell, with Samsonite down 7.49%, A.S. Watson Holdings down 3.61%, Prada down 1.89%, Chow Sang Sang down 1.59%, Sa Sa International down 1.52%, Giordano International down 1.35%, Luk Fook Holdings down 1.10%, and Chow Tai Fook down 0.44%.
