More than 0.3 million cross-border trips were recorded as of 10 am on the first day of the Easter and Qingming holidays, the Hong Kong Immigration Department revealed on Friday.
Departures reached about 246,000, of which about 232,000 were made by Hong Kong residents.
The Lo Wu Control Point, which connects to Shenzhen via the MTR East Rail Line, was the busiest crossing for outbound travel.

Arrivals totaled about 56,000, with 30,000 involving Hong Kong residents and 16,000 involving travelers from the Chinese mainland, authorities said.
On Tuesday, the Immigration Department said the SAR expects to see over 6.44 million inbound and outbound passenger trips during the holidays from April 3 to 7.
