Hong Kong police have arrested 82 people and seized HK$9 million (US$1.1 million) of cash in a citywide anti-triad operation.
The force said on Wednesday that officers raided multiple locations across the city during the crackdown, which was launched in the early hours of Tuesday.
The 55 men and 27 women arrested included alleged masterminds and core members of criminal syndicates.
“During the operation, officers seized criminal proceeds of HK$9 million in cash, as well as other evidence,” the force said. “Police investigation is still ongoing.”
