When a single connection at the Asia Summit on Global Health (ASGH) 2024 helped Eieling Technology secure its partnership in Indonesia, it created ripple effects that continue to expand. The Hong Kong-based medtech company’s portable liver scanner has since been adopted in regional hospitals, obtained crucial regulatory approvals, and attracted strategic investors – all through relationships initiated at ASGH. Their journey from university lab to international markets exemplifies why this summit has become Hong Kong’s premier platform for healthcare innovation.

This legacy of transformation continues as the city prepares to host ASGH 2025 from May 26 to 27 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Jointly organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), this year’s summit under the theme “Fostering Global Collaboration for a Shared Future” builds on Hong Kong’s unique position as a global healthcare hub. Here, where East meets West and innovation meets implementation, the summit will again convene world-class researchers, healthcare business leaders and investors for two days of groundbreaking discussions and strategic connections.

Leaders from academia and industry officiate the launch of the “LiverCare” programme and PolyU Screening Campaign at the previous ASGH, promoting early detection and liver health awareness.

The opening day will feature two plenary sessions. The “Shaping a More Equitable and Sustainable Health System” session will explore the pressing need for health systems that are both equitable and sustainable.

Speakers exchanged insights on healthcare equity and innovation during a panel discussion at the main forum of the previous ASGH in Hong Kong.
