Hong Kong Airlines relaunched its codeshare partnership with international carrier WestJet in October, expanding its international route network between Hong Kong and Canada. Under the renewed agreement, Hong Kong Airlines’ “HX” codes will be placed on multiple WestJet-operated domestic flights within Canada. This enables passengers travelling on Hong Kong Airlines to seamlessly connect via Vancouver to major Canadian cities including Calgary, Toronto, Edmonton, Kelowna, Prince George, and Victoria.
Louis Li, Executive Vice President of Hong Kong Airlines, said: “We are delighted to renew our partnership with WestJet. This collaboration not only strengthens Hong Kong Airlines’ network coverage in North America, allowing our passengers to conveniently connect from Vancouver to major cities across the region, but also demonstrates our confidence in building a truly global network. It reflects our commitment to connecting the world while providing passengers with a wider range of travel options and a smoother journey experience. Looking ahead, we will continue to deepen our collaborations with global partners and reinforce Hong Kong’s leading position as an international aviation hub.”
John Weatherill, Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer of WestJet, said: “We are excited to rekindle our partnership with Hong Kong Airlines through the return of seamless codeshare options, giving guests more flexibility and convenience to connect from Vancouver through WestJet’s domestic network. This milestone brings our airlines closer together, and further connects Hong Kong with Canada, paving the way for stronger tourism and business connections on both sides of the Pacific.”
