The show made a bonafide global star out of its lead Miley Cyrus, the daughter of another famous musician Billy Ray Cyrus, and is now fondly remembered as one of the flag bearers of the Disney Channel’s golden era.
While we all remember the show’s central cast, in Miley, Billy Ray, Emily Osment, Mitchell Musso, Jason Earles and Moises Arias, it’s the supporting and guest stars that truly elevated it further.
During its four season run, Hannah Montana was able to pull in an elite list of stars, and though you may remember some of its most popular supporting cast members like Dolly Parton (aka Aunt Dolly) or Selena Gomez (aka Mikayla Skeech), here are some others who were on the show you may have forgotten about…
Just two months after making his debut as Chad Danforth in High School Musical, Corbin Bleu made an appearance on the very first episode of Hannah Montana as Johnny Collins, a classmate of Miley and Lilly’s that the former has a crush on (we all remember the “ketchup as moisturizer” moment). He returned a season later for the episode “We’re All on This Date Together.”
Brooke Shields played Miley Stewart’s late mom Susan Stewart in flashback or dream sequences throughout the series to offer her daughter guidance, making her first appearance in the season two episode “I Am Hannah, Hear Me Croak.” She returns that season in “The Way We Almost Weren’t,” and finally in season three’s “He Could Be the One.”
The season two episode “Me and Mr. Jonas and Mr. Jonas and Mr. Jonas” broke cable TV records, when Hannah came face to face with Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas. The boys quickly grow enamored with Robbie Ray, and vice versa, to the point that it makes Miley jealous of how much time they’re spending together. The band later joined Miley on her Hannah Montana tour as well.
Heather Locklear made a one episode appearance as Lilly’s mom Heather Truscott in the season two episode “Lilly’s Mom Has Got It Goin’ On.” Miley and Lilly set their parents up in the hopes of becoming real sisters, but when things don’t work out as planned, they end up fighting themselves.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson makes a cameo as himself in the season two episode “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get the Phone.” Miley and Lilly convince The Rock that they’re his manicurists and stylists in an effort to give him an embarrassing makeover to get a silly photo, so they can recover one of Hannah’s from a paparazzi photographer. The Rock eventually comes to their aid in teaching the photographer a lesson.
The late Rob Reiner appears in the season three episode “You Gotta Lose This Job” as himself, a director looking to cast Hannah in a new movie. However, to cheer up her friend Oliver after his band failed an audition, Miley decides to up the diva during Hannah’s own audition. Ironically, this impresses Rob more so, but Oliver supports his friend anyway.
Robin Roberts appears as herself in the season four episode “Can You See the Real Me?” She interviews Miley, who has revealed herself to be Hannah Montana, about her double life, reliving some of the show’s most memorable moments. She and Miley are the only characters to star in this episode, with the rest in flashbacks.
Kelly Ripa appears as herself as well in the season four episode “I Am Mamaw, Hear Me Roar!” which primarily centers around Miley’s inability to give her grandmother enough time compared to her fans. In fact, Kelly’s not the only one, as her daughter Lola Consuelos, then just nine years old, also made a cameo as a girl named Nina.
