The Vigilante actor breaks his silence on whether audiences will see more of Adrian Chase after that massive Peacemaker Season 2 cliffhanger.
Peacemaker’s Beloved Hero Has Bad News To Share
Freddie Stroma brought one of the most unpredictable characters to life in Peacemaker, but when it comes to his future in the DC Universe, the actor is just as in the dark as the fans. Despite the Season 2 finale setting up major story possibilities, Stroma confirms he has received no word about returning as Vigilante.
“I’ve had zero discussions,” Stroma stated to The Direct. “So people always say, like, ‘Oh, you wouldn’t tell us anyway.’ I genuinely have no idea. So I wish I could act all coy, but I genuinely don’t know.” The comments confirm that whatever plans James Gunn has for Vigilante, they haven’t involved informing the man who plays him. While this secrecy aligns with DC Studios’ typical approach, it leaves the character’s immediate future uncertain.
The Season 2 finale of Peacemaker ended with a game-changing revelation: Adrian Chase, alongside the 11th Street Kids, helped form Checkmate. It is an organization DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn described as designed to “make the world” better. Given Checkmate’s apparent significance to the DCU’s future, Vigilante seemed positioned for bigger things.
Especially, as it ended with Christopher Smith (John Cena) stranded on Salvation by Rick Flagg Sr., leaving the rest of the team’s fate ambiguous. Stroma admitted he has no insight into how the story might continue. However, expressed hope it would be “resolved somehow,” whether in a series or film.
The outlet also asked Vigilante’s actor about having the chance to cameo in 2025’s Superman movie as Peacemaker did. “I mean, I would have loved to. I love ‘Superman.’ I’ll do whatever James. If he wants me to pop [up] in any movie or TV show, I’m down,” he said.
While Peacemaker Season 3 remains unannounced, Vigilante’s comeback possibility is yet to be confirmed.
