The Voice alum Kata Hay was arrested and charged in connection with an alleged vehicular homicide. Authorities arrested her after receiving multiple tips from citizens about her location. She was reportedly on the run after the crash.
The Voice Season 10’s Kata Hay arrested in Oklahoma after car crash
Kata Hay, an ex-contestant from The Voice Season 10, was arrested in Oklahoma on December 17 under a vehicular homicide warrant following an alleged car crash in Tennessee (via Entertainment Weekly).
After the Goodlettsville Police Department was unable to locate her, they appealed to the public to help in locating her with a Facebook post, adding that she might be heading to Oklahoma. Thanks to tips from citizens, authorities were able to arrest Hay at her Oklahoma residence on Wednesday morning. She was later extradited to Davidson County.
Later, the department posted an update, expressing gratitude to those who called with the tip. They wrote, “The Goodlettsville Police Department would like to thank the multitude of citizens who called in with tips as to the location of Ms. Huddleston. As a direct result, we are pleased to announce that she was arrested early this morning in Oklahoma, where she will be extradited back to Davidson County.”
Currently, the department has not released the details about the crash. This incident marks the third legal trouble for the 38-year-old singer. In 2022, she spent six months in Sumner County prison after pleading guilty to having sexual contact with a minor (via WKRN). Prior to that, she was on probation for her DUI offenses in 2017.
On The Voice, Hay tried and failed to pass the initial audition stages four times. However, she made it in its 10th season in 2016. During her blind audition, she performed Gretchen Wilson’s “Redneck Woman,” which impressed Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and Pharrell Williams. Later, Hay chose Aguilera as her mentor for the season. While she made it to the Top 20, she was eliminated during Week 1 of the live playoffs.
