Some Verizon customers nationwide have reported having no service or seeing ‘SOS’ showing up on their phones.
Verizon is aware of the issue and is working to fix it, the company said on its website.
“Verizon engineering teams are continuing to address today’s service interruptions,” it says. “Our teams remain fully deployed and are focused on the issue. We understand the impact this has on your day and remain committed to resolving this as quickly as possible.”
Why is my phone showing no signal or SOS?
Over 100,000 Verizon outages were reported on DownDetector.com, a website that tracks use-reported outages for several platforms that connect to the internet. The outages appears to be happening nationwide.
The number of outages reported peaked at over 172,000.
What does SOS mean on my phone?
When iPhones are not connected to a cellular network, they typically will alert you in the phone’s status bar or it may say ‘SOS’ at the top of your screen.
How do I report an outage?
Users can report an outage at DownDetector.com. Once on the site select the platform you are experiencing issues with then select if the issue is with your mobile phone, no signal, mobile internet or something else.
The website will also show a chart of how many problem reports have been submitted in the past 24 hours.
