The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards has a history of dumping their signature neon-green slime on celebrities every awards ceremony, a moment that has become a fan-favorite
Throughout the years, it has become tradition for celebrities to be doused with the now-nostalgic neon green slime at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
Most viewers tune in to see which big stars will get drenched in the network’s signature green gooey concoction. A long list of famous people have been “slimed” at the KCAs over the course of its 37-year run, including Sandra Bullock, Orlando Bloom, and many more. In 2018, Kids’ Choice Awards executive producer Jay Schmalholz revealed to TVInsider what makes the sliming such a fan-favorite feature of the awards ceremony.
“You’re never exactly ready for it, it’s always a surprise,” Jay explained to the news outlet about the notable prank. “It does get in everywhere — you’ll be finding it for a couple of weeks. But it’s super fun. You can’t help but smile and feel like a little kid.”

Jay also admitted how “fantastic” it was to see how the celebs react to being hit with the green slimy mess.
“The aftermath is fantastic, watching them get de-slimed,” he explained. “We go through thousands and thousands of towels. It is absolutely an art form. We’ve got Slime Masters who have gotten really good at it.”

Jack, who’s hosted the Kids’ Choice Awards on more than one occasion, has been slimed repeatedly.

The Jonas Brothers, Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas, were slimed as a trio at the 2009 Kids’ Choice Awards
Jim Carrey
Jim was covered in slime at the KCAs a few times.
