The Foresters Arms in Frogham, near Fordingbridge, also boasts an abundance of water bowls, beds and blankets and even poo bags, which won them favour in the nationwide contest by pet care site Rover.com.
Public House Officer Luke James embarked on a ‘Great British Pub Crawl’ and left no bone unturned as he checked out more than 110 pubs across the country to find the most welcoming for pooches.

The Foresters Arms, known locally as the donkey pub and run by the Daniels family with the help pub dog Norman, was then declared top dog.
Landlady Maddy Daniels said: “We’re over the moon to be named the most dog-friendly pub in the UK.
“Dogs are such a big part of our community, and we love making sure every guest – on two legs or four – feel right at home.
“This award means the world to our team, and we can’t wait to welcome even more wagging tails through the door.”
Rover’s reviewer judged pubs on a range of factors, including their booking systems, pup accessibility, welcoming atmosphere, staff communication, canine facilities, pet safety, and the overall experience for their pooch – leaving no bone unturned.
Luke James, Rover’s Public House Officer, added: “Out of all the pubs we visited this summer, The Foresters Arms genuinely stood out. Pups were not just welcomed, but truly celebrated, with thoughtful touches that made everyone feel at home. It’s the kind of place we’d happily return to again and again – and our Yoshii absolutely loved it.”
All guests are guaranteed a warm welcome at The Foresters Arms, which boasts an ever evolving menu of locally sourced seasonal food, including steaks and Sunday roasts.
Wadworth beers include 6X, Horizon and To Helles and Back with Birra Moretti, Guinness and Thatcher’s cider also proving popular.
A newly refitted outdoor kitchen and bar area specialises in stonebaked pizzas.
