EV battery giant CATL begins gauging interest for planned HK listing

Contemporary Amperex Technology, the world’s largest maker of batteries for electric vehicles, has begun sounding out investor interest for its planned Hong Kong share sale, according to terms of the deal seen by Bloomberg. Bloomberg previously reported that CATL aims to raise at least US$5 billion (HK$39 billion) as early as May, which could become the city’s biggest listing in years. Meanwhile, CATL is seeking a loan of around US$1 billion to fund an investment in Indonesia, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.
