Donald Trump questions loyalty of NATO nations if migration continues

Some NATO members could soon become “majority non-European” which could raise questions about their future loyalty to Washington, according to the U.S. National Security Strategy which outlines President Donald Trump’s foreign policy priorities.

Tackling illegal immigration into the U.S. was a key theme of the 33-page document released Thursday night, as was migration within European countries.

The document said that that in the long term, some members of NATO will become “majority non-European.” This could cast into doubt whether their alliance with the United States would be the same as when they signed the NATO charter, it added.

This is a developing story to be updated.
