Staff are trying to rescue 17 people stranded in mid-air after a ride at Hong Kong’s Ocean Park malfunctioned.
Police received a report at 6.50pm on Sunday that a mechanical ride inside the park had suddenly stopped, leaving passengers trapped at height.
The ride is “Wild Twister”, a high-speed spinning attraction.
Staff at the theme park in Wong Chuk Hang are working to free the stranded riders using standard emergency procedures, while firefighters remain on standby to help if needed, according to police.
Firefighters reached the first riders and helped one down at about 7.38pm, followed by a second person at about 7.54pm.
The Wild Twister allows people in individual seats to ride, swinging and spinning while experiencing a force of up to a force four times stronger than normal gravity.
