Ryan Reynolds has a “really smart” idea for Deadpool 4, according to T.J. Miller.
Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine was released in 2024. The third film in the Deadpool franchise is directed by Shawn Levy and sees Reynolds once again play Wade Wilson. While Deadpool 4 hasn’t yet been officially announced by Marvel, there’s been much chatter about the potential MCU project.
Miller was not part of Deadpool & Wolverine. The actor starred as Weasel in the first two movies; however, he then faced several controversies, including a sexual assault allegation and an incident in which he was arrested for making a fake bomb threat. Miller hasn’t acted much in recent years, though he did voice a character named Randy in the F Is for Family animated sitcom in 2021.
What is the update on Deadpool 4?
Speaking with 101 WRIF Detroit, Miller was asked if there was a chance that Weasel might appear in Deadpool 4 or if that ship has sailed.
“It has not sailed,” he said. “And that’s all I’m going to say about that. Okay. Marvel gets so weird about this stuff. They’re just like, don’t talk about it, don’t talk about it.
“…And I will also say that his idea for the next Deadpool film is, like, really good. You know, it’s just, it is really smart. He told me the idea. I kind of got hair on the back of my neck standing up because I was just like, I didn’t think you could do something that’s even more different than Deadpool & Wolverine. And I think he has, I think, you know, it’s in the chamber, and I don’t know when that’s necessarily going to happen because he’s got a couple other projects going, but I’ve really come to, I mean, I always liked him and thought, I’ve always thought he’s the funniest.”
There is no release date for Deadpool 4 at this time. Deadpool & Wolverine, meanwhile, can be streamed on Disney+.
