City take further steps to block Rodri’s move to Real Madrid

Spanish midfielder Rodri has sparked widespread debate over his future at Manchester City following his recent comments, in which he strongly hinted at a possible move to Real Madrid in the future.

Rodri, who currently plays for Manchester City, said in comments that caused quite a stir: “The fact that I played for Atlético Madrid doesn’t stop me from playing for Real Madrid. Others have gone down this path, and you can’t turn down the best clubs in the world; I’d like to return to Spain.”

According to the renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, an expert on the European transfer market, Manchester City have made a new offer to the player in an attempt to retain his services, though this offer has not yet dispelled doubts about the player’s future.

Romano explained, via his account on the “X” website, that the final decision rests with Rodri and his family. Should the player reject the new offer, the English club will demand a substantial fee to allow him to leave this summer, or he will leave on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer of 2027.
