Chinese stocks jumped Tuesday as investors welcomed the double boost of robust economic growth and news that Nvidia may soon restart selling some chips to the country.
Technology names, in particular, were surging with Alibaba up 7%, Baidu climbing 4% and Tencent rising 3.5%. All three are major Nvidia customers.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rose 1.6%, while the Hang Seng Tech index was up 2.8%.
