Celebrity Parents Who Gave Their Kids the Same Name

Celebrity baby names are always one or the other: either a rather “normal” name or a truly unique one that has fans talking for weeks afterward. Hollywood is no stranger to unique baby names, but something rather unique is when quite a few celebs have the same name for their children.

We all remember the Charlie Wolf incident in 2019, when quite a few celebrities gave their sons the same first and middle name. While there’s nothing as wild as that, we’ve seen quite a few celebrities give their kids the same name. In 2025, everyone seems to be naming their kid Ocean. Before that, the name everyone talked about was Birdie, or Daisy.

With all the celebrity parents in Tinseltown, there’s bound to be a few celebrity kids who share the same name, no matter how unique or cosmic it is. And we found quite a few examples.

Zooey Deschanel, Carly Waddell, Lauren Conrad: Charlie Wolf

We all remember this weirdness happening in 2019. Zooey Deschanel named her son Charlie Wolf back in 2017, and then Lauren Conrad named her secondborn Charlie Wolf, born on Oct 8, 2019. Deschanel even talked about the coincidence, saying, Us Weekly, “That was so weird, right? I don’t think she knew it.”

She added, “[Conrad and I] have a really good mutual friend and she was like, ‘Did you know that Lauren Conrad…’” Deschanel shared. “I said, ‘No, that’s so funny!’ She’s like, ‘I don’t think she knew it.’”

One month later, Bachelor in Paradise alum Carly Waddell welcomed a son in Nov 2019, and named him Charlie Wolf.

Amber Heard, Jesy Nelson, Alexa and Carlos PenaVega, Forest Whitaker, Taylor Frankie, & Jeff Goldblum: Ocean

Ocean has become the biggest name in Hollywood in the 2020s, and it seems like everyone has at least one kid named Ocean. The most popular examples are Amber Heard, Jesy Nelson, Alexa and Carlos PenaVega, Forest Whitaker, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie, and Jeff Goldblum; and that’s just the tip of the iceberg!

Kelly Clarkson & Natalie Joy: River Rose

That’s right, Kelly Clarkson and Natalie Joy both have daughters named River Rose! Joy and Nick Viall welcomed a daughter, River Rose Viall, back in 2014, and a decade prior, Clarkson welcomed her daughter River Rose.

Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn & Ashley Tisdale and Christopher French: Jupiter

Honestly, Jupiter is such a cool, unique name, and we were so shocked to hear that two separate celebrity couples gave that name to their daughters. Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn named their second born in 2022, while Ashley Tisdale and Christopher French named their firstborn Jupiter Iris the year prior.

Jason Bateman and Amanda Anka & Kendall Schmidt and Mica Von Turkovich: Maple

Maple is not only a nature-inspired baby name, but it’s the name of Jason Bateman and Amanda Anka, as well as Kendall Schmidt and Mica Von Turkovich’s daughters.

Nick Cannon & Iggy Azalea: Onyx

Fun fact: Nick Cannon and LaNisha Cole welcomed a daughter named Onyx in 2022, and two years prior, Iggy Azalea and Playboi Carti welcomed a son of the same name.

Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson, Busy Philipps and Marc Silverstein, Brie Bella, & Maura Jo West and Scott DeFreitas: Birdie

Bird names are all the rage in the 2020s, but even before that, these celebrities named their children Birdie. Busy Philipps and Marc Silverstein named their daughter Birdie in 2008, and the following year, Maura West and Scott DeFreitas named their daughter the same. Brie Bella named her daughter that in 2017, and in 2019, Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson did the same.

Teresa Palmer and Mark Webber & Megan Fox: Bodhi

Bodhi is a deeply spiritual name of Sanskrit origin meaning “enlightenment” or “awakening.” Teresa Palmer and Mark Webber named their firstborn Bodhi back in Feb 2014, and that same year, Megan Fox named her son Bodhi Ransom.

Felicia Day & Acacia Brinley and Jairus Kersey: Calliope

Supernatural’s Felicia Day welcomed a daughter named Calliope Maeve in 2017, and an influencer couple named their son the same thing. Exes Acacia Brinley and Jairus Kersey named their third child, a son Calliope, also known as “Cali” back in 2020.

Teresa Palmer and Mark Webber & Soleil Moon Frye: Poet

Teresa Palmer and Mark Webber are no strangers to unique names, having named their third born Poet Lake, born on April 2019. Soleil Moon Frye also welcomed her firstborn, Poet Sienna Rose, born in 2005.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis, Meg Ryan, Gavin Rossdale and Pearl Lowe, Jamie Oliver and Juliette Norton, & Damian McGinty and Anna Claire Sneed: Daisy

The most famous instance of a celebrity couple giving their daughter the name Daisy was with exes Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, who named their daughter Daisy Dove, born in Aug 26, 2020. There’s also Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis’ daughter, Jamie Oliver and Juliette “Jools” Norton daughter, and most recently, Glee alum Damian McGinty and Anna Claire Sneed.

Gavin Rossdale and Pearl Lowe have a daughter named Daisy Lowe, born in Jan 27, 1989. Along with that, Meg Ryan adopted a daughter in 2006, and gave her the name Daisy.

“It took me a while to get to know her,” she said via People. “[Daisy]’s a really ridiculously happy person, and it was the happiest name I could think of.”

Kevin Hart & Alexa Bliss: Hendrix

Kevin Hart and Torrei Hart welcomed a son named Hendrix in 2007, and then in 2023, WWE’s Alexa Bliss and Ryan Cabrera welcomed a daughter named Hendrix Rouge.

Eva Amurri, Sienna Miller, & Jason Schwartzman: Marlowe

Not one, not two, but three separate celebrities named their kids Marlowe. Eva Amurri and her ex Kyle Martino named their firstborn Marlowe, while Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge named their daughter Marlowe a year prior.

Then, Jason Schwartzman welcomed a daughter named Marlowe Rivers in 2020.
