Plenty of celebrities have dated “normal,” non-famous people, from restaurant servers to realtors. However, some of their “regular” partners have had pretty irregular, interesting careers.

In 2025, People confirmed that Jennifer Aniston is “casually dating” hypnotherapist/life coach Jim Curtis. They’ve reportedly been together for a few months after a friend introduced them. A source told the outlet, “Jen had read his book and was familiar with his work. She’s really into self-help and wellness.” Another source added that Jim is very different from anyone she’s dated before.”

Andrew Garfield dated professional witch and spiritual mentor Dr. Kate Tomas for a few months in 2024. On her website, she sells a seducation masterclass, but on her podcast, The Friday Emails, she said that she temporarily removed it because of “horrific accusations that were levelled at [her] that [she’d] used magic to seduce [her] partner.”
Kate faced a lot of vitriol online over their relationship. She said, “Fucking hell, nothing could prepare me for having literally thousands of women telling me I’m ugly, I’m unattractive, I’m less than in every conceivable way.” She also told the Times, “It’s frustrating that no matter how accomplished or impactful a woman is, it’s always going to be more interesting if they are in a relationship with a man. I don’t want to sit under anybody’s shadow.”

In 2024, Lana Del Rey married swamp boat captain Jeremy Dufrene. They reportedly appear to have met when she took one of his airboat tours in Louisiana in 2019. A source told People, “They initially met a few years ago the first time and then reconnected earlier this year. It’s been kind of a whirlwind romance, but Lana’s close friends hoped she would get married. Jeremy is different from the men that Lana meets in the entertainment world. He’s a great guy. He’s charming and charismatic in a Southern way, very much a gentleman, and he treats Lana really well. She’s an old soul.”

But Jeremy isn’t Lana’s first non-celebrity partner! From 2019-2020, she dated Sean “Sticks” Larkin, who’s a police officer-turned-cop influencer. He hosts Live PD Presents PD Cam and works as an analyst on A&E’s Live PD. Lana told the LA Times, “Well, the thing is, he’s a good cop. He gets it. He sees both sides of things.”
During a 2023 concert in London, she changed the lyrics to “Chemtrails Over The Country Club” to seemingly imply that her relationship with Sticks wasn’t quite over when he got married in early 2022. She sang, “He’s born in December and / he got married when we were still together / but sometimes I wonder what his wife would think if she knew that I didn’t know anything / He’s born in December and he got married while we were in couples therapy together.”

In 2014, Jeff Goldblum married former Olympic rhythmic gymnast-turned-contortionist, aerialist, and dancer Emilie Livingston. They met at the gym. In 2019, he told The Hoda Show, “We were at the gym. You can imagine, she wasn’t showing off … but she was doing some kind of fantastical [workout]. I was compelled to go over and ask what was happening … She hasn’t seen many of my movies still, she didn’t know who I was when we met.”

In 2007, Pamela Anderson reportedly dated magician Hans Klok while also performing as his assistant. When they appeared on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, the host asked if they were dating, and Pamela replied, “Would you call it that? There’s a lot of love backstage. It’s very physical. It’s very loving.” Then Hans answered, “You call it dating, we call it physical.”

Bella Hadid reportedly began dating professional horseman Adan Banuelos in 2023 after they met at a horse show. In 2024, Bella told W Magazine, “If it wasn’t for horses, I’d have never met the love of my life.”
And on the podcast Along for the Ride with Andrea Fappani, Adan said, “I can’t tell you how happy I am. I can’t tell you how fortunate I am. This young lady is one of the kindest, biggest-hearted, and sweet person…I mean, I didn’t know God made ’em like that. How beautiful she is on the outside is nowhere near compared to what she’s like as a human being… I think she deserves the best and I’m trying to get my business and my life and my time, get it all to where I can share that with her. She loves horses.”
Bella lived in his trailer until she bought a home in Texas. He said, “She did do the 5th wheel happily. It was badass. That 5th wheel has always felt small, and then you get somebody that you enjoy spending time with, and that 5th wheel went from a 5th wheel to a fucking mansion.”

After 23 years together, RuPaul and rancher Georges LeBar got married in 2017. RuPaul told Entertainment Tonight that they met “literally, on the dance floor at Limelight” in 1994. He said, “He was dancing like a crazed person. I went over and said, ‘What are you doing?’ You know, and that was that. Yeah, he’s a rancher. He has a ranch in Wyoming. A very large ranch… He works the ranch, I work Hollywood, and we meet up in fabulous places. You know, he needs breaks from time to time, because it’s a very different life. So, we plan little getaways once a month, you know? New York or Maui or San Francisco or Vegas. We do that.”
They decided to get married after the 2016 presidential election. RuPaul continued, “We are devoted to each other. We don’t stand on ceremony. We thought, ‘We don’t have to get married.’ But then, in light of what’s happening currently in the world today, what’s happening in Washington, we thought, you know what? Let’s do it. Let’s just do it, because there’s too much at stake with our businesses … so, that’s why we did it.”

In a 2018 Instagram post, he shared, “Tomorrow is the 20th anniversary of a signing we had at @gapplecomics back in 1998 to celebrate the release of the Clerks comic book. So Rock and I rehearse and as he’s leaving, I tell him I’m doing an interview with USA Today next and that I feel weird that it’s in my hotel room. Rock jokes ‘Better here than the bar downstairs. It’s filled with hookers!’ Ten minutes after Rock left, there was a knock on my door. When I answered it, a stunning young woman roughly my age was standing there. And because up to that point, anyone I’d ever been interviewed by at USA Today had been in their late 40’s, the first thought that ran through my head when I saw the face of my future wife was ‘Oh no! We were together but very off and on over the past year — very, very much. So we broke up, and I mean unfollowed on social media, which we’ve never unfollowed each other before through all the breakups.”

In the doc, journalist/filmmaker Bidisha SK Mamata said, “She literally went off and joined the circus, she and her kids.”
