Kevin McKidd and Danielle Savre (Image: UGC) Fans of medical drama Grey’s Anatomy were stunned to spot stars Kevin McKidd and Danielle Savre enjoying a romantic Christmas break along the Teesside coastline in January this year.

The actors, known for their roles as Dr Owen Hunt and Maya Bishop, shared snaps on Instagram posing near Saltburn Bank and Huntcliff, and strolling hand-in-hand along the Promenade.

McKidd, originally from Elgin, Scotland, clearly knew the perfect spots to show his Californian co-star, with eagle-eyed followers also spotting several scenic local landmarks in their gallery of festive photos.

Danny Miller and Family Celebrate Award-Winning Beaches

Danny Miller (Image: UGC) Emmerdale actor and I’m A Celebrity winner Danny Miller was also seen soaking in the Saltburn sunshine with his wife and children in April.

Their visit coincided with the announcement of Saltburn and Redcar winning Seaside Awards for their cleanliness, safety, and eco-consciousness, two of just 66 beaches nationwide to receive the accolade.

Miller, who often visits the coast, praised the area, saying: “We love it here. We come all the time. People are so friendly and it’s a lovely place to come.”

Frasier Star Kelsey Grammer Goes Supercar Shopping

Kelsey Grammer (Image: UGC) In one of the most unexpected sightings of the year, Kelsey Grammer, best known as Dr Frasier Crane in Cheers and Frasier, was spotted at Acklam Cars in Middlesbrough browsing luxury vehicles.

Grammer, whose wife Kayte Walsh hails from Hartlepool, chatted with staff and posed for photos in what was described as a relaxed and down-to-earth visit.

The moment was shared on the dealership’s Instagram, captioned: “Kelsey Grammer aka Frasier Supercar Shopping at Acklam Cars.”

Boxing Champ Tyson Fury Returns to Teesside

The former heavyweight boxing champion was back at Acklam Car Centre in April, continuing his tradition of purchasing luxury cars in the North East.

Fury’s visit came amidst swirling speculation about a potential boxing comeback following his 2024 defeats to Oleksandr Usyk.

The dealership posted a glowing tribute, saying: “A lovely visit from a very special friend, always a pleasure seeing you, Tyson.”

TV Legend Chris Kamara Supports Charity Walk in Saltburn

Chris Kamara (Image: UGC) Beloved presenter and former footballer Chris Kamara was spotted on Saltburn’s Cliff Tramway in June, meeting with Tracey Howe, a woman walking 5,000 miles around the UK coastline in memory of her late wife.

Kamara walked a mile alongside her in support of her effort to raise £100,000 for five cancer-related charities, calling her “an inspiration.”

Robson Green Films with Football Star in County Durham

The pair were seen enjoying a day of outdoor adventures at Crag Pond, embracing nature in a shoot celebrating the North East’s tranquil and restorative escapes.

Green, a Northumberland native, continues to use his platform to spotlight the region’s hidden gems and promote wellness through nature.

Boyband Duo Dine in Style in Gateshead

Pop stars Keith Duffy (Boyzone) and Brian McFadden (Westlife), now performing as Boyzlife, were spotted enjoying a pre-show curry at Raval Indian Brasserie near the Tyne Bridge before headlining at The Glasshouse (formerly Sage Gateshead).

The pair mingled with diners and praised the award-winning food, calling it “some of the best Indian food I’ve had in a long time.”
