While we weren’t all that enthused with Jonathan Anderson’s Dior Spring 2026 debut, he has a chance to pull some of us back on side with his custom—or off-runway—looks at events like the 2025 Academy Museum Gala.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for me.
Sheer? For Mikey Madison? Since When?
While Mikey Madison’s silvery grey embroidered lace Dior gown is beautiful in design, but did it need to be sheer? This was never her aesthetic during her Anora press tour or awards season, so I don’t understand the sudden pivot into something so transparently (pun intended) off-brand. Mikey’s style has always leaned classic — a touch demure, even — so this attempt at “sexy Dior” just doesn’t feel authentic. However, we should also take into account that she is now working with Andrew Mukamal. Silver Jimmy Choo Minny sandals, and Tiffany & Co. jewels including an archive necklace completed her look.

Finally, a Dior redemption arc
Anderson owed Greta Lee a better dress after the Tron: Ares LA premiere disaster — and thankfully, he delivered. Her Dior black lace and silk gown, though slightly too long, was a return to better form, elevated further by her Tiffany & Co. Archives necklace, matching earrings, and Tiffany Soleste® ring. It still doesn’t feel entirely like Greta, but it’s better nonetheless.

This isn’t working
Since the Oscars, I’m yet to see a Dior look on Monica Barbaro that works. This Dior Spring 2026 white silk pleated bustier dress is no exception. It does absolutely nothing for her. Some might be relieved to see her graduate from the sleek column silhouettes of her A Complete Unknown press tour, but I’d take one of those over this ballooned silhouette any day. It overwhelms her frame, and the awkward hemline and floral trims feel random rather than romantic. De Beers jewels completed her look.
Bring back the beret era
And finally, LaKeith Stanfield. I miss his old swagger — the creativity, the personality. This time in Dior, aside from the silk satin knot neckband and scarf, there was nothing memorable here. A far cry from the man who once gave us a sexy animal-print shirt and a beret at this same event back in 2023. Is the power in the beret? If so, bring it back.
