Chanel’s Spring 2026 debut under Matthieu Blazy was presented during Paris Fashion Week, and if you’re anything like me, you’re probably thrilled to see that this debut feels like a bold renewal for the French house. Blazy managed to balance respect for heritage with a freer, more contemporary spirit — and that’s no easy feat.

Die-hard traditionalists might be concerned that the relaxed silhouettes and softer tailoring risk diluting Chanel’s iconic structure. But for many of us who’ve been waiting — for years — for the house to evolve, this moment feels long overdue. We hoped for this kind of energy under Virginie Viard, but it never fully materialised. Blazy, with his keen architectural eye and emotional precision, has finally delivered a confident, layered debut that speaks to the Chanel woman of now.

But what about the ambassadors? Where do they fit into this new, freer Chanel world?

Margot Robbie — alongside stylist Andrew Mukamal — will no doubt have the most fun with this new vision. After her Barbie press tour, she’s been open to experimentation, and Blazy’s mix of sharpness and fluidity feels perfectly in sync with her evolved confidence.

Nicole Kidman, the newly appointed global ambassador, is poised to be one of Blazy’s strongest muses. I imagine Jason Bolden will have a field day dressing her in these fluidly silhouettes. Her statuesque frame will bring an added dimension to the sculptural, modern tailoring.

Ayo Edebiri, another new addition, feels like a perfect fit for Blazy’s direction. Before his appointment, we would have worried that her quirky individuality would clash with Chanel’s tweed-heavy aesthetic. But now, there’s room for her wit, intellect, and edge to coexist within this softer, more dynamic vision.

Tilda Swinton might just be the biggest winner here. This collection feels tailor-made for her: cerebral, androgynous, quietly radical. Blazy’s Chanel offers her the perfect medium to merge her avant-garde sensibility with the house’s refined codes.

Penelope Cruz, meanwhile, has long been trapped in a cycle of overtly classic looks that rarely played to her strengths. Blazy’s more fluid and architectural silhouettes could finally give her the freedom to explore her sensual side. It’s an instant style evolution waiting to happen.

Jennie from Blackpink has matured stylistically, and I see her leaning into the colourful dresses rather than the heavier tailoring — an approach that keeps her youthful energy intact.

Charlotte Casiraghi, the epitome of classic Chanel, will likely stay close to the house’s timeless staples — a reassuring anchor for traditionalists.

Lily-Rose Depp will likely find herself straddling two worlds — dipping into the Chanel archives and embracing the fresh ease of Blazy’s new direction. She’s part of that generation that can make vintage Chanel feel current and modern Chanel feel timeless.

Rebecca Patricia Armstrong — youthful and authentic — already embodies the fresh, free-spirited Chanel Blazy has presented.

Gracie Abrams — the epitome of modern femininity — seems destined to thrive under this new creative direction, where emotion, and softness coexist.

Marion Cotillard can finally embrace the expressive, artistic side of her personality that has been muted for too long.

Lupita Nyong’o’s Chanel era has yet to truly begin, but this new chapter may finally bring the vibrancy she deserves. With richer colours, bolder prints, and modern shapes, I’m hopeful we’ll see the Lupita we fell in love with return in full force.

Riley Keough, on the other hand, has yet to have a standout Chanel moment. Maybe this is the turning point. Blazy’s more understated, textured pieces could finally align with her grounded, bohemian glamour.

Kristen Stewart has always managed to make Chanel her own — from Karl to Virginie — and that won’t change now. Her instinctive ability to turn Chanel into grunge-chic poetry will flourish in this new chapter.

Margaret Qualley has been on an upward trajectory since partnering with Danielle Goldberg, breaking free from repetitive tweed moments. With Blazy’s modern shapes, she’ll continue to shine.

Lucy Boynton, ever the whimsical spirit, will no doubt gravitate towards the more playful, romantic side of the collection.

Who are you most excited to see in the new Chanel collection?

  1. Kendall Jenner
