I am not 100% sold on the strict neckline of this Raisa Vanessa Couture gown, but Allison Janney’s charm carries it. The architectural shoulders are not my ideal cut on her, but her confidence makes a convincing case.

Britt Lower’s Colleen Allen Fall 2026 look had detail and sheer inserts that should have added intrigue, yet the weight of the velvet dulled the impact. Everything felt slightly heavy. Not my favourite outing from her this season.

Chase Sui Wonders wore Miss Sohee Couture with the kind of delicacy the brand demands. The embellishment and sculpted lines felt considered, and she carried it with poise. This was a strong couture moment.

Expectations Missed

Knowing what Monique Lhuillier can deliver, I expected more from this Fall 2026 gown on Dove Cameron. The execution felt surprisingly flat, missing the romance and drama I associate with the house.

Suit Sharpness

Ella Balinska was one of my favourites in Pamella Roland Fall 2026. With men like Timothée Chalamet failing to deliver truly sharp tailoring on this carpet, she stepped in and showed him how it is done. Clean lines, and precise fit. This was a masterclass in tailoring.

High Glamour

Eiza González delivered full femme fatale in a strapless Armani Privé Fall 2025 embellished gown. The rich beading and sleek fit framed her beautifully. Add the red lip and the attitude, and the look landed exactly where it needed to.

One Detail Too Many

Many of you may have loved Kathryn Hahn in Viktor and Rolf Spring 2026 ball gown, but that pink peplum was my sticking point. Remove it, and the look sharpens instantly. With it, the look felt slightly clumsy.

Sheer Done Right

I may not love Kristen Bell’s Georges Hobeika Fall 2026 Couture gown, yet I respect it. The sheer construction could have tipped into disaster, but the craftsmanship and underpinnings kept everything secure and refined. It is not my taste, but I have to say it is very well executed.

Kirsten Dunst has been the standout plus one this season, especially in Valentino, but in Khaite Fall 2026 I have one word: bored. The black dress is neat and tidy, yet it lacks spark. For someone who has delivered so many memorable moments, this felt like autopilot.

Leslie Bibb’s Ashi Studio Fall 2026 Couture gown was all about precision. The high neckline and structured cap sleeves framed her shoulders beautifully, while the silver embellishment traced the body in a way that felt almost armour like. It demanded posture and presence, and she delivered both. The slicked back hair kept the focus exactly where it needed to be.

Mindy Kaling in Yara Shoemaker Spring 2026 Couture gave us rich texture and unapologetic glamour. This isn’t her usual M.O., but she carried the look with ease. On this occasion I love how the styling leaned into the full glamour.

Joy in Full Volume

Naeem Khan brought the feathers, and Natasha Rothwell brought the energy. The textured black bodice and full skirt had real presence, but it was her smile that sold it. This was celebratory dressing at its best.

Fringe With Attitude

Odessa A’zion pulled Giorgio Armani Fall 2015 from the archives, and the beaded fringe jumpsuit still hits. The plunging neckline and inky shimmer gave it edge, while the undone hair and relaxed pose was very her. It had bite, but only because she leaned into it.
