On Thursday night, Variety celebrated three rising stars—Tyla, Finn Wolfhard, and Sam Nivola—at their Power of Young Hollywood Party. Hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles, the event served not only as a toast to fresh talent but also as a showcase for a wonderfully eclectic mix of red carpet style.
Sharp, simple, and effortlessly cool
I’ve said it before, Mason Thames is one of my favourite newcomers of 2025. Even outside his How to Train Your Dragon press tour, his style remains consistent. This time he went for a Louis Vuitton black tailored workwear jacket and trousers, paired with a crisp white T-shirt and black leather loafers. A touch of David Yurman jewellery sealed the deal—refined without being fussy.

A bouquet in motion
If you’re after a dainty, feminine moment, Auli’i Cravalho delivered in a pastel floral strapless Alberta Ferretti Resort 2026 corset-style dress. It was a joyful reminder that summer dressing still has a place in early August, and the result was utterly refreshing.

Polished in Pinstripes
Nicholas Alexander Chavez’s love of sharp tailoring continued with a Burberry brown suit accented with maroon frayed pinstripes. It’s confident, sleek, and rich in detail.

The soft rebel
Bella Poarch’s Aniye Records look captured her sweet-meets-rebellious DNA perfectly. Lace and chiffon brought romantic softness, while her tattoos and bold makeup gave it that edge only she can pull off. It’s the ultimate balance of sugar and spice.

Emerald elegance
Marissa Bode, gearing up for her Wicked: For Good press tour, wore a green-and-black houndstooth Leo Lin Rayna tweed bustier dress. Elegant drop earrings and black pumps rounded out the look—a sophisticated pairing that proves great style knows no boundaries.

The Ivy League sweater gets a cinematic twist
Finn Wolfhard brought his signature academic-cool energy in a Valentino ensemble featuring a striped tie, a bold red wool sweater with a graphic white stripe, and perfectly tailored black trousers. It’s collegiate meets leading man—a combo that never fails for him.

A gothic romance with a twist
Brittany Broski’s self-described “old Hollywood 1930s corpse bride” look came via Sagradesa’s asymmetric black dress with white lace trim and a flowing ivory chiffon underskirt. While the Café Forgot brooch charmed me, the maroon lace tights and matching Jeffrey Campbell shoes took this into unexpectedly quirky territory.

Denim, Dior, and quiet confidence
Dior Men’s It boy Sam Nivola kept things refreshingly understated in a brown wool notch lapel jacket, light blue striped shirt, and dark denim jeans. It’s the kind of easy, lived-in elegance that doesn’t scream for attention—but still gets it.

Sun-kissed and backless
Chandler Kinney embraced summer in a Sandro backless decorative knit dress, complete with a plunging neckline and flared hem. Gold strappy sandals finished the look, adding that perfect sunlit shimmer.

Stripes with bite
Josh Richards rocked a Dzojchen striped suit—a contemporary, lightweight design with just enough structure. I would’ve swapped the heavy black shoes for something airier, but the black stripe in the suit kept them from feeling totally out of place. David Yurman jewels polished it all off.

A sculptural statement
Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy opted for Magda Butrym’s sculptural flair in a black strapless mini with a signature floral detail at the hip. Black Alexandre Birman sandals and Kaimanna by Samara jewels made for a sleek, coordinated finish.

Golden simplicity
After a whirlwind Freakier Friday tour, Julia Butters returned home and embraced understated elegance in a gold cowl-neck bias-cut dress. Less can be very, very more.

Plaid perfection
Madison Pettis turned to Magda Butrym for a grey plaid ruched off-shoulder bustier dress, styled with silver metallic pumps that added a futuristic flash to the heritage print.

A kaleidoscope in motion
Ella Anderson wore Missoni’s signature zigzag in a multi-colour gradient knit one-shoulder dress adorned with sequins. David Yurman jewels added to the playful palette.

Red carpet, red romance
Love Island USA couple Ace Greene and Chelley Bissainthe both brought standout style. He opted for a statement-making Jean Paul Gaultier multi-tattoo suit, while she stunned in a bright red The New Arrivals Ilkyaz Ozel Darja ruched high-neck gown—a pairing as bold as their on-screen chemistry.
