A Mondelēz International (Cadbury owners) spokesperson explained: “In 2023, we launched Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruitier and Nuttier Trail Mix, before expanding the range in 2024 to include Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruitier and Nuttier Bars.

“We worked incredibly hard to ensure that these better-for-you products retained the indulgence and great taste that consumers expect from Cadbury, and whilst the initial response from consumers was positive, sales and availability have significantly dropped.

“As a result, we have taken the difficult decision to withdraw the range from the market, news we know will disappoint some consumers.”

The spokesperson continued: “We remain fully committed to delivering in the wellbeing space by bringing forward an increased range of better-for-you products, alongside investment in reformulation, portion control and education.

“This includes promoting and investing in Cadbury Delights, our delicious range of chocolate containing fewer than 100 calories per bar.”

The Dairy Milk Fruitier and Nuttier Trail Mix had proved popular, with shoppers on the Tesco website describing it as “hard to put down”.

One person, reviewing the Cadbury Dairy Milk product, said: “This trail mix has such a great mix of different flavours-the chocolate adds such a lovely addition to usual trail mixes. I love how it’s sort of guilt free.

Another added: “It is dangerous putting such a delicious snack in a 100g pack because it is so tasty and crunchy and delicious you don’t know when to stop.

“A wonderful combination of nuts, dried fruits and Cadbury chocolate buttons.

“I think next time I will stick to the pack of three snack packs which have 35g in each one however, on this occasion, I wanted to try the orange variety, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.”
