Netflix has officially enlisted the next series regular who will be joining the live-action cast of its upcoming Assassin’s Creed show. The project is based on the popular video game series from Ubisoft.
“The story is centered on the secret war between two shadowy factions — one set on determining mankind’s future through control and manipulation, the other fighting to preserve free will. The series will follow its characters across pivotal historical events as they battle to shape humanity’s destiny,” reads the show’s official synopsis.
Who is joining Netflix’s Assassin’s Creed cast?
According to Deadline, Australian star Tanzyn Crawford (Tiny Beautiful Things) has been tapped for a series regular role in Netflix’s live-action TV adaptation of Assassin’s Creed. She will be joining previously announced leads Toby Wallace and Lola Petticrew, along with series regulars Zachary Hart and Laura Marcus. Further details about their characters are still under wraps.
Before starring in the Netflix show, Crawford will first appear in another major fantasy franchise later this month. She’s part of the main cast of HBO’s upcoming Game of Thrones prequel, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which premieres on January 18, 2026.
The Assassin’s Creed show will be executive-produced by showrunners Roberto Patino and David Wiener, based on Ubisoft’s best-selling video game series. Executive producers are Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, and Genevieve Jones from Ubisoft Film & Television, and Matt O’Toole. A previous rumor suggested that the story might explore a period in the franchise that hasn’t been explored before, with historical figures like Emperor Nero reportedly appearing. Production is expected to take place in Italy sometime in 2026.
Since its debut in 2007, the video game franchise has sold more than 230 million units worldwide. This won’t be the first time Assassin’s Creed has received a live-action adaptation, as Sony Pictures previously adapted it for the big screen in 2016 with Michael Fassbender leading the cast.
