Appleton International Airport has partnered with Copper Rock Coffee Company to open Grain & Grind Coffee & Deli, a new coffee shop inside the airport.
According to a news release, the coffee shop will replace the airport’s former restaurant in the existing concourse and will feature a number of Copper Rock’s custom coffee blends.

Copper Rock first opened at 210 W. College Ave. in Appleton in 2003, it has since expanded into a second location at 1835 E. Edgewood Drive, Suite 108, in Appleton and inside the Copper State Brewery at 313 Dousman St. in Green Bay.
The shop’s roastery is located inside its College Avenue location allowing for freshly brewed coffee on hand. It’s coffee is also sold wholesale across northeastern Wisconsin.
“We love creating a quality product that encourages our customers to slow down and relax over a great cup of coffee,” said Bill Heiges, owner of Copper Rock, in the news release. “Introducing the Copper Rock brand to travelers will be an exciting opportunity to showcase our coffees.”
Grain & Grind Coffee & Deli will serve Copper Rock specialty drinks like espressos, lattes, cappuccinos and smoothies. Customers can also order food options like sandwiches and salads as well as cocktail options.
“We are committed to partnering with regional businesses to give visitors the best taste of the Fox Valley,” said ATW director, Abe Weber, in the news release. “Bringing a high quality, family-owned brand like Copper Rock to the airport enhances a unique travel experience for our passengers.”
Alongside the new coffee shop, the airport has announced plans to expand with additional marts in the terminal. North River Express will be located before security and North River Trading Co. will be after.
The popular cases of Spotted Cow beer will still be available for purchase after security.

Construction on the area is underway and will be completed in phases. Grain & Grind Coffee & Deli and the additional express marts are scheduled to be complete and open by this summer.
“Our expanding airport is all about building partnerships,” said Outagamie County executive, Thomas Nelson, in the news release. “We specifically sought out a local business rather than bringing in a national brand and are excited to share the taste of the Fox Cities with travelers.”
