Apple verification server issue breaking local app installation for developers [U]

Update: The issue with Apple’s verification server is now resolved.

If you’re an Apple developer unable to install test builds on your device, you’re not alone. While Apple’s system status page for developer services doesn’t list any issues, there have been widespread reports over the last few hours about the issue.

The issue is also affecting enterprise app installation.

The problem appears to be due to an issue with an Apple verification server involved in the process.

However, the problem presents itself to developers as a connectivity issue on their end and not Apple’s.

The error message reads as follows:

Unable to Verify App

An Internet connection is required to verify trust of the developer [name]. This app will not be available until verified.

A Reddit post from earlier today is tracking the problem. For now, it appears at least some developers are unable to install and test code changes on-device until the issue is resolved.

Separately, 9to5Mac has received an increasing number of tips from developers experiencing longer than expected app review times.
